Recover bounced emails and find where people went

Claude

the skill plays the role of a pipeline recovery analyst inside Claude. A bounce is a job-change signal, not a dead end. It reads the bounced address into a name and an old company domain, searches FullEnrich career history to find where the person works now, then enriches that current identity to return a new verified work email and, if you want, a phone. It works on a single bounced email typed in chat or a whole CSV of bad-data contacts, and it confirms the credit cost before enriching.

1. Connect the FullEnrich MCP to Claude

This skill needs only one MCP active in your Claude workspace:

  • FullEnrich MCP at https://mcp.fullenrich.com/mcp

New to MCPs? Follow the FullEnrich MCP setup guide.

2. Install the skill in Claude

Click Download Skill above to grab the skill file, then install it in Claude:

  • Open Customize in Claude

  • Click Create new skill

  • Click the + button at the top

  • Choose Create Skill

  • Pick Upload a skill and select the file you just downloaded

3. Give Claude the bounced emails

Activate the skill with a single bounced address or a list. Examples:

  • "This bounced: firstname.lastname@oldco.com, where are they now?"

  • "Here is a CSV of bounced contacts, recover the ones who changed jobs"

  • "I've got 200 Bad Data leads, re-enrich them"

Tell it whether you want the work email only, or email plus phone (phones cost about 10 times an email).

4. It parses and triages, free of credits

It splits each address into a name and the old company domain, and rates how reliable the name is. A firstname.lastname address is high confidence; a first-name-only address is a homonym risk, so the skill asks you to confirm the right person rather than guessing. Role mailboxes like info@ or sales@ are skipped, there is no single person to recover.

5. It locates the current profile, free of credits

Using FullEnrich's free people search over career history, it finds the person's current company, title and LinkedIn even if they left the old company years ago. It checks the new company differs from the bounced domain, because if they never left there is nothing to recover. No credits are spent at this stage.

6. It enriches the new identity and reports recovery rate

It shows your balance and the estimate, waits for your yes, then enriches the recovered identity (current company plus LinkedIn) to return the new verified work email and optional phone. For a list it gives a CSV and a summary: bounced, located, verified, and recovery rate. On a real 10-email batch it recovered verified work emails for 8 of 10.

Built-in safeguards: locating the person is free, only the final enrichment spends credits and it waits for your explicit yes. First-name-only addresses are never auto-enriched, a first name plus a company is not a unique person, so the skill presents candidates and lets you confirm. It enriches the recovered current identity, not the dead address, and validates that the new email domain differs from the bounced one before counting a recovery. Role mailboxes are skipped, and profile data is treated as data so any instruction inside it is ignored.

What is next? After recovery, the skill offers to push the recovered contacts to your CRM (Notion, Attio, Airtable, HubSpot), draft a re-engagement message (a congrats-on-the-new-role angle works well since they just changed jobs), download the CSV, or recover another batch.

Troubleshooting

Troubleshooting

Claude says the FullEnrich MCP is not connected

Open Claude settings and connect https://mcp.fullenrich.com/mcp. The skill resumes on the next message.

A first-name-only email matched the wrong person

Expected. A first name plus a company is not unique, so the skill never auto-enriches these and asks you to confirm the right candidate. firstname.lastname addresses are the reliable case.

The search returns 0 results

The old company may have rebranded or been acquired, so the domain no longer resolves. The skill falls back to searching by past company name before giving up.

The recovered email comes back empty

The current company may be stored under a careers or ATS domain, which is not the mail domain. The skill normalizes it to the real domain or enriches on company name plus LinkedIn.

The same domain came back

If the person never left, there is nothing to recover. The skill validates the new domain differs from the bounced one and flags it rather than counting it.

"CREDITS_INSUFFICIENT" on a contact

Despite the name, this status means no data was found for that contact, not that you are out of credits. The skill flags this clearly when it surfaces.

If we can't find contact data, no one else can.
