What makes a B2B contact database good?

A good B2B contact database finds the people in your segment, keeps their details current, and bills you in a way you can forecast. Five things decide it:

  • Filters that fit your company size: title, seniority, headcount, industry and location should describe your buyer without a list import. Coverage thins on smaller companies; ColdIQ, an outbound agency, notes in its guide to B2B data layers that "Mainstream databases go thin below mid-market."
  • How records stay current: a published refresh cycle, verification at export, or a live check at request time. ZeroBounce, which sells email verification, reports from more than 11 billion addresses that "at least 23% of an email list decays within just one year."
  • What triggers billing: viewing, revealing, exporting, or only a verified result. Apollo.io, for example, charges 1 credit per verified email and 8 per phone number.
  • Mobiles in the countries you call: Cognism's phone-verified data covers 10m+ contacts, and every vendor's coverage shifts by country, so test the countries on your dial list.
  • Contract terms: ZoomInfo's paid plans are annual and mostly billed upfront, while several tools here run month to month. Check how much notice a renewal needs.

All 10 tools return emails or phones for people you don't have yet. LinkedIn Sales Navigator hands you neither, and Clay is a workflow builder that orchestrates other tools, so it sits with data enrichment tools. The wider vendor field is in our guide to B2B data providers.

Why trust us?

A contact is only worth something if the number rings and the email lands. I co-founded FullEnrich and run its product, and that idea shapes how I read every tool on this list.

FullEnrich doesn't own a database. For every contact, it asks 20+ providers in turn and keeps only what passes verification. That puts us in an unusual seat: we see which providers come back empty or fail verification on each contact. Of the data we buy from providers, 31.53% fails our checks. We don't deliver it and we don't bill it.

Many teams we talk to don't replace ZoomInfo, Apollo or Cognism. They run FullEnrich next to it, and they tell us where their database breaks: a head-office line labeled as a mobile, a renewal notice nobody read. One customer compared 500 contacts in FullEnrich and ZoomInfo. Both found a mobile for 255 people, and the numbers matched 45% of the time.

So I read each tool below for two things: how much of your list it can reach, and what you pay per contact.

1. FullEnrich

FullEnrich G2 rating: 4.8/5 (246 reviews)

FullEnrich Search for building B2B prospect lists, with matching contacts listed by name, job title and company FullEnrich Search counts the people who match your filters before you spend a credit.

FullEnrich is a waterfall enrichment platform: sales teams, recruiters and AI agents use it to get work emails, personal emails and mobile numbers, each checked before delivery. It's best overall for email and mobile accuracy across regions: a waterfall across 20+ providers, every result verified, billed only when found.

You build a list by persona or by account in FullEnrich Search, free to browse. Each person then runs through the providers in turn, and a result that fails verification sends the request to the next one. A work email costs 1 credit, a mobile 10. A miss costs nothing, and neither does a landline.

A US search for software sales leaders at 11-200-person companies founded since 2018 returns 2,193 people, browsed free before any credit is spent.

FullEnrich Search: people matching each filter step 372,415 US sales leaders narrow to 18,646 in software, 7,986 at companies with 11 to 200 employees, 2,193 at companies founded since 2018, and 106 who changed jobs in the last 90 days. A setup we see often is FullEnrich as the second pass: ZoomInfo or Apollo runs first, and only the contacts it missed come to us.

Best for: B2B sales teams, agencies and recruiting firms prospecting in more than one country.

Key features

  • Waterfall enrichment: 20+ providers queried one after another until an email or mobile passes verification. Mobiles are checked for line type and active status, so reps don't dial dead lines.
  • People search: filter by title, seniority, industry, headcount, location and job changes, then enrich the list in the same place.
  • Reverse email lookup: turn a Gmail or Outlook sign-up into a name, company and LinkedIn profile for 1 credit.
  • MCP server: ask Claude, Cursor or another MCP-compatible agent for a type of prospect and get verified contacts back in the chat.

Pros

  • You pay only for results found: misses and landlines are free
  • Unlimited users on every plan, including the trial
  • Leftover credits carry over for 3 months on a monthly plan and a full year on a yearly one
  • SOC 2 Type II and GDPR compliant

Cons

  • No intent data or in-house research team
  • Catch-all emails are billed when found

What users say: Maja Voje (GTM Strategist) had a coverage test run on her niche and reported that "the best coverage actually came from FullEnrich in our case".

Pricing: 50 free credits, no card. Pro starts at $29/month for 500 credits ($26 billed yearly); 1,000 credits a month cost $55, so about $0.055 per email and $0.55 per mobile.

FullEnrich pricing plans with the credit slider at 1,000 monthly credits for $55 FullEnrich Pro at 1,000 credits a month: $55, or $0.055 a credit.

Try FullEnrich with 50 free credits, no card required.

Skip it if you want intent data and org charts from the same vendor as your contacts; ZoomInfo bundles them.

2. ZoomInfo

ZoomInfo G2 rating: 4.5/5 (9,198 reviews)

ZoomInfo homepage for its go-to-market AI platform, with an email sign-up field and customer logos ZoomInfo now sells itself as an AI platform for go-to-market teams, with the B2B database underneath.

ZoomInfo is a B2B go-to-market intelligence platform that sells contact data, intent, technographics and org charts under one annual contract, on 500M+ contacts and 100M+ companies by its own count. It's the enterprise standard for large sales teams selling into US accounts.

Reps search the database or use the Chrome extension on LinkedIn and company sites, then push records to Salesforce or HubSpot, the workflow our guide to CRM enrichment covers. Every paid plan is quoted and annual, and most are billed upfront. Vendr's procurement data lists auto-renewal with 30 to 90 days' notice as common, so put the opt-out date in your calendar on day one. Cotera moved its four-person outbound team off ZoomInfo after paying $42,000 a year for contact information.

Buyers we talk to search in Sales Navigator and open ZoomInfo's extension only for the mobile; at one company, that seat-usage data ended the renewal.

Best for: Mid-market and enterprise sales teams selling into US accounts.

Key features

  • Contact and company search: filter 500M+ contacts by role, seniority, technographics and company attributes.
  • Intent data: surfaces accounts researching topics you sell into, next to the contacts.
  • CRM enrichment: fills Salesforce and HubSpot account and contact fields from ZoomInfo's data.
  • GTM Studio: builds workflows that query ZoomInfo and third-party vendors together, so a ZoomInfo miss can still come back filled.

Pros

  • Contacts, intent, technographics and org charts in one contract
  • Strong US coverage and a contact confidence score
  • Account-level data good enough for CRM hygiene and ICP tiering on its own
  • Quotes are negotiable: Vendr says buyers cut them 22% on average

Cons

  • Head-office lines sit beside mobiles and can be dead
  • Annual contracts; Vendr says auto-renewal clauses are common and often carry 5-10% yearly price increases

What users say: Jonathan Pierce told ZoomInfo he wouldn't renew, then wrote on LinkedIn that "on the day it autorenewed they sent me a quote for $40,000, mind you when I was previously on $8k/yr."

Pricing: ZoomInfo Lite is free with 10 credits a month. Paid plans are quote-only; the median buyer pays $33,500 a year on Vendr's data. Our ZoomInfo pricing breakdown goes deeper.

3. Apollo.io

Apollo.io G2 rating: 4.7/5 (9,848 reviews)

Apollo.io sign-up page with buttons to join by email, Google or Microsoft and a note that no credit card is needed Apollo's free plan starts without a credit card.

Apollo.io is an all-in-one sales platform that pairs 240M+ contacts and 30M+ companies with sequences, a dialer and a Chrome extension. Startups and small sales teams pick it for value: one login covers finding people and reaching them.

You filter the database, reveal an email or phone, and send from the same records. A verified email costs 1 credit and a phone number 8, and unused credits expire at the end of each billing cycle, purchased add-ons included. Apollo's intent data is powered by Bombora, and it now adds waterfall enrichment for extra email and phone verification.

Teams that come to us keep Apollo for sequencing, its dialer and CRM sync, and buy their phone data elsewhere.

Best for: Early-stage B2B startups and SMB sales teams running their first outbound.

Key features

  • Free plan: 900 credits per seat a year, granted monthly, enough to test a segment.
  • Sequences and dialer: email steps and calls run from the same contacts you searched.
  • Chrome extension: reveal contacts while you browse, without exporting a list first.
  • CRM sync: keeps contacts and activity in step with your CRM.

Pros

  • Only verified emails cost a credit, at 1 credit each
  • Prospecting and sending happen in the same tool
  • A free plan that stays free

Cons

  • Unused credits expire every cycle, add-on credits included
  • Phone numbers cost 8 credits, and the Organization plan needs 3 seats

What users say: One user had Apollo's AI agent build a US-only list and wrote in an r/UseApolloIo post about the credits it spent: "The AI just burned through 10,392 of my paid credits on people that violated the exact prompt I gave it." Blank location fields had counted as a match.

Pricing: Free plan available. Basic costs $49, Professional $79 and Organization $119 per seat a month, billed yearly, at 1 credit per email and 8 per phone; our Apollo pricing guide does the credit math by plan.

Apollo.io pricing plans for its B2B contact database, from Free to Organization, on yearly billing Apollo prices each paid plan per seat and shows yearly billing first.

Skip it if your calling list needs more mobiles than emails: at 8 credits a number, with credits that expire, phone-heavy prospecting adds up. Our Apollo alternatives page covers the rest of the field.

4. Cognism

Cognism G2 rating: 4.5/5 (1,376 reviews)

Cognism homepage headline about Europe's most trusted data, above customer logos from Asana, Aircall and Notion Cognism's homepage puts its European data first.

Cognism is a sales intelligence vendor built around Europe, selling contact data and phone-verified mobiles to SDR teams calling the UK and the rest of the region. It's the pick for EMEA compliance and mobile data: 10m+ phone-verified contacts, each number confirmed by a call that checks the right person answers.

One credit buys one revealed contact, and viewing it again is free. On its own figures, Cognism refreshes 95% of its director-and-above contacts on a 30-day cycle. On Pro, a "Verified mobile numbers only" filter counts the verified mobiles in your segment, per Cognism's help center. Cognism also owns Kaspr; see our Kaspr pricing guide.

The pattern on our calls: Cognism holds the EMEA contract and a separate vendor covers the US.

Best for: Mid-market B2B companies cold-calling the UK and Europe.

Key features

  • Phone-verified mobiles: numbers confirmed by a call to the right person and marked with a diamond icon.
  • Quality filters: limit a search to verified mobiles or verified emails before you spend a credit.
  • Enrich add-on: keeps a contact current and spends a credit again only when key details change, like a job move.
  • Do-not-call checks: numbers are cross-checked against national DNC lists.

Pros

  • Mobiles confirmed by a call to the right person (Cognism's own method)
  • One credit per contact, and re-viewing is free
  • A stated 30-day refresh on director-level contacts

Cons

  • Both packages start at 5 seats, and the premium mobile filter sits on Pro
  • No public prices

What users say: A G2 reviewer invited by Cognism wrote in a review of Cognism's contact data: "Sometimes the contact information is incomplete or outdated, and the search and filtering options could be more intuitive and precise."

Pricing: Price on request. Standard and Pro each include 5 seats with credits per seat, at 1 credit per revealed contact, and more credits can be bought anytime; see our Cognism pricing breakdown.

5. Lusha

Lusha G2 rating: 4.3/5 (1,670 reviews)

Lusha homepage headline "Data you can build on", with its 515M+ contacts and 29M+ companies claim and a banner about connecting Claude Lusha sizes its data at 515M+ contacts and now promotes a connection to Claude.

Lusha sells emails and phone numbers one contact at a time to SDRs and AEs, through a browser extension or its own search. Quick prospecting on LinkedIn is the use it's designed around: a rep on a profile who needs one number now, from an index of 515M+ contacts.

Every search shows which fields exist on a contact before you spend a credit, per Lusha's data-accuracy FAQ, so you can gauge coverage on your own list for free. An email reveal costs 1 credit and a phone 5, with no refund when a reveal turns out incomplete. Monthly plans roll unused credits over, up to twice your limit; annual credits reset at year end.

Teams with more reps than Lusha licenses end up swapping seats all year, and one login locks out the other.

Best for: SDRs and AEs at small and mid-size companies looking up contacts one at a time from LinkedIn.

Key features

  • Browser extension: reveal contacts on LinkedIn and company websites without switching tabs.
  • Field preview: see whether an email or phone exists before you pay for it.
  • Waterfall option: 2 credits per confirmed email, 8 per confirmed phone, and nothing when no result comes back.
  • Web search: build lists in Lusha's own search as well as from the extension.

Pros

  • A permanent free plan and a low entry price
  • Contact data refreshed on every search, per Lusha
  • Monthly rollover up to twice the plan's limit

Cons

  • A phone reveal costs 5 credits, with no refund if incomplete
  • Teams above 5 users have to go through sales

What users say: One G2 reviewer found the data split by channel and region in a G2 review of Lusha: "While business emails tend to be reliable, phone number accuracy drops noticeably outside North America or for mid-level employees."

Pricing: Free with 40 credits a month. Starter costs $37.45, Pro $52.45 (2 seats) and Premium $299.95 a month, billed yearly, with 1 credit per email and 5 per phone; the credit math is in our Lusha pricing guide.

6. Seamless.AI

Seamless.AI G2 rating: 4.4/5 (5,417 reviews)

Seamless.AI homepage for its AI prospecting platform, with a Command Center dashboard of call and email counts and an Enrich All button Seamless.AI's homepage leads with AI-assisted prospecting and a dashboard of calls and emails.

Seamless.AI is an AI prospecting platform that builds contact lists through real-time search for US outbound teams prospecting at volume. Its own pages cite more than a billion contacts, with 100+ data points per profile updated continuously.

You search with a wide filter set, and the AI helps build the list; each reveal spends a credit. A free license gets 50 credits that don't replenish, Basic 250 a month and Pro 10,000. An invalid email returns its credit automatically, while phone numbers don't. Seamless's terms make every subscription annual, and you have to cancel 60 days before renewal or it renews for 12 more months.

One buyer told us the agreement they received matched nothing they had discussed with sales for months, so read the order form line by line.

Best for: US SMB and mid-market outbound teams prospecting at volume.

Key features

  • AI-assisted list building: large lists built from your filters with AI help.
  • 100+ data points per profile: Seamless says each profile is updated continuously.
  • Universal credits: one credit type for every reveal, with 250 a month on Basic and 10,000 on Pro.
  • Credit-back on invalid emails: a bounced email returns its credit automatically.

Pros

  • Annual plans with large monthly credit pools on Pro
  • A free license to test the search
  • A wide filter set for US outbound

Cons

  • Annual contracts only, with 60 days' notice before renewal
  • No public prices

What users say: One buyer who expected a trial posted billing's reply in an r/SaaS thread on Seamless.AI's annual contract: "We're sorry all contracts with seamless are annual and it will cancel when my year is up."

Pricing: No public prices; the pricing page asks how many contacts you need and leads to a demo, and each reveal costs 1 credit. What's known is gathered in our Seamless.AI pricing guide.

Seamless.AI pricing inquiry form asking how many contacts you need per month, with options from up to 1,000 to 25,000+ Seamless.AI asks for your monthly contact volume instead of showing a price.

7. UpLead

UpLead G2 rating: 4.7/5 (832 reviews)

UpLead homepage for its B2B contact database of real-time verified emails and mobile numbers, with a contact search preview UpLead's contact search, where one credit buys a contact's email and mobile.

UpLead is a contact data provider that checks every email the moment you export it, for small teams running email-first outbound. Verified emails and clean lists are its reputation, backed by a 95% accuracy guarantee and 200M+ leads ranked by freshness.

One credit gets you a contact, with email and mobile direct dial, for download or CRM export. The guarantee applies "at the point of download": UpLead's support center says it doesn't promise zero bounces once you send, and it advises suppressing addresses flagged accept-all. Monthly plans carry no contract; only Professional is annual.

One agency we spoke with gives each SDR either ZoomInfo or UpLead and is testing alternatives before its UpLead renewal.

Best for: Small US B2B companies sending email-first outbound.

Key features

  • Verification at export: every email is checked the moment you download it.
  • Email and mobile per credit: one credit buys both for a contact.
  • CRM export: send the contacts you've paid for straight to your CRM.

Pros

  • Monthly plans with no contract
  • A 7-day free trial with 5 credits
  • One credit covers a contact's email and mobile, when both exist

Cons

  • The 95% guarantee ends at download
  • Accept-all emails need separate handling

Pricing: Essentials costs $99 a month for 170 credits (about $0.58 per contact), or $74 a month billed yearly; Plus is $199, or $149 yearly, and Professional is custom. See our UpLead pricing breakdown.

8. RocketReach

RocketReach G2 rating: 4.4/5 (1,385 reviews)

RocketReach homepage for its verified contact data, with a people search filtered by VP, CEO, CMO and marketing agency RocketReach search with role and industry filters, built for finding a specific person.

RocketReach is a contact lookup tool that finds emails and phone numbers for a known person, for recruiters and sellers who start from a name and company. It searches 700 million professionals and returns personal emails as well as work ones.

A credit is spent only when RocketReach returns an A or A- grade email or a valid phone; searching, misses and re-lookups on an active plan are free. A phone lookup counts as a success when 1 of the 5 numbers returned is active for the right person, per RocketReach's help center.

One recruiting team running EMEA projects told us that stacking RocketReach with other US-strong tools returned nothing most of the time.

Best for: Recruiting firms and agency recruiters contacting specific candidates.

Key features

  • Graded emails: each email carries a deliverability grade, so you know which ones to send.
  • Personal and professional emails: useful when a candidate's work inbox is the wrong channel.

Pros

  • Misses are free, and one profile never costs more than one credit

  • 5 free lookups with no card

Cons

  • A phone "success" can mean 1 working number out of 5
  • "Unlimited" plans cap exports, from 1,200 a year on Essentials, which is email only

What users say: A commenter in an r/sales thread on mismatched emails and phones found one channel working at a time: "Either the email bounces but the phone number works, or the phone number bounces but the email works."

Pricing: Essentials costs $33 a month ($399 a year), Pro $75 ($899) and Ultimate $142 ($1,699), billed annually, and one profile never costs more than 1 credit. For background, read what RocketReach is.

How does FullEnrich get verified emails and mobiles for your list?

FullEnrich is best overall for email and mobile accuracy across regions: a waterfall across 20+ providers, every result verified, billed only when found. The work happens in five steps:

  1. Search your segment for free in FullEnrich Search, by persona or from a list of target accounts.
  2. Run the people you keep through waterfall enrichment, where 20+ providers are asked in turn until a work email or mobile passes.
  3. Each result is verified before you see it: three independent engines must agree on an email, and mobiles are checked for line type and active status.
  4. You're billed only when something is found: 1 credit per email, 10 per mobile, nothing for misses or landlines.
  5. The same steps run from the API, or from Claude and other AI agents through the FullEnrich MCP server.

The checks matter because sources disagree: in one customer's 500-contact comparison, FullEnrich and ZoomInfo both returned a mobile for 255 people, and the numbers matched 45% of the time.

Enriching every email in the 2,193-person search above costs at most 2,193 credits, about $121 at the 1,000-credit plan's rate of $0.055 a credit, and less when some aren't found, because misses are free.

FAQ

What is the best B2B contact database right now?

The best B2B contact database depends on your budget, company size and target region: ZoomInfo for enterprise scale, Apollo.io for SMB value, Cognism for EMEA and mobile data, and FullEnrich for email and mobile accuracy across regions. Vendor claims conflict, so run the same people through your top two and count what verifies.

Are there free B2B contact databases?

Yes: Apollo.io, Lusha, ZoomInfo Lite, Seamless.AI and RocketReach all have free tiers, and FullEnrich has a 50-credit trial with no card. Apollo grants 900 credits per seat a year, Lusha 40 a month, ZoomInfo Lite 10, Seamless.AI 50 that don't replenish, and RocketReach 5 lookups. That covers a segment test.

Which B2B contact database is the most accurate?

Accuracy depends on region, seniority and segment, so no single provider's own data wins everywhere. FullEnrich is best overall for email and mobile accuracy across regions: it runs a waterfall across 20+ providers and verifies every result. Measure bounces and wrong numbers on your own list; vendors' own figures disagree, and Apollo's pages cite both 98% and 91% email accuracy.

How fast does B2B contact data go stale?

About 5% of one US sales-leader list changed jobs within 90 days: in a FullEnrich Search of 2,193 US software sales leaders (October 2026), 106 had moved, counting only detected moves. Vendor refresh clocks run from 30 days (Cognism) to 3 to 6 months (Lead411), so re-check a list before each campaign.

What's the difference between a contact database and enrichment?

A contact database helps you find people you don't have yet: you search by role, company and region. Enrichment starts from people you already have, such as a name and company, a LinkedIn URL or an email, and adds contact details. FullEnrich pairs people search with waterfall enrichment across 20+ providers.

Is using a B2B contact database GDPR-compliant?

Using a B2B contact database can be GDPR-compliant if you have a lawful basis, tell contacts where you got their data, and honor opt-outs. Ask each vendor where its data comes from and how it handles deletion requests. FullEnrich lists SOC 2 Type II and GDPR in its security section and stores no contact data.

How much does a B2B contact database cost?

Self-serve plans start at $29/month for FullEnrich, $33 for RocketReach and $49 a seat for Apollo.io (both billed yearly); quote-only contracts run higher, and Vendr reports the median ZoomInfo buyer pays $33,500 a year. ZoomInfo, Cognism, Seamless.AI and SalesIntel quote on request. Compare cost per reachable contact.

Is LinkedIn Sales Navigator a contact database?

LinkedIn Sales Navigator is a LinkedIn search tool, and it doesn't hand you work emails or mobiles. Teams pair it with an extension or an enrichment tool to add emails and mobiles.

Does FullEnrich have a contact database?

No: FullEnrich stores no contact data; it pulls each email and mobile from 20+ providers at request time and verifies it. You pay only when something is found, and nothing sits in a table going stale.
